CS Consulting Group 2024 Year in Review
Building Success Together
As 2024 draws to a close, we are proud to look back at a year filled with remarkable achievements and the dedication of our entire Team of over 60 talented Engineers, Technicians and Support Staff. From project milestones and renewed qualifications to on-site engagement and team-building initiatives, 2024 has been a year of progress and growth.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
This year, our Team successfully reached critical milestones on numerous projects across Ireland and the UK, each demonstrating our commitment to excellence in engineering and consulting.
RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
Our success in the escalating residential market is well demonstrated with the delivery of over 2,000 residential units in 2024 (substantially complete), with another 2,000 + units successfully brought through the planning system, ready to be delivered in the coming years.
We are very proud to be working with the Land Development Agency on several of their own development sites, with circa 219 units under construction and over 3,000 in the pre-construction, design development and planning stages. In 2024 we delivered two substantial projects for the Land Development Agency in Adamstown and Hansfield via the Project Tosaigh scheme with our esteemed private Clients.
We are also very proud of our continue relationship with our private development partners and approved housing bodies who are delivering a mix of much needed private and social/ affordable housing across the Country.
As the emphasis on sustainable development continues to grow, we are working with our public and private Clients to reimagine existing building stock into residential developments. Utilising our structural expertise to sustainably repurpose these existing structures enables us to deliver our Clients visions for these developments.
COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT
While the office market is reportedly stagnated, our Team continue to deliver a large quantity of world-class office space across developments including Harcourt Square (KPMG), Waterfront South Central (Citi), Charlemont Square, One Le Pole Square, 9-12 Dawson Street, The Sidings, The Merrion Building, The Treasury Annex and many others.
Our pipeline of fit-out, refurbishment and extension projects continue to grow as clients seek to re-develop commercial and retail space to increase floor space and improve energy efficiency and sustainability credentials. We utilise our structural expertise to extend and reconfigure existing structures, managing complexities, such as protected structures, to deliver the best results.
OTHER SECTORS
We have seen strong activity in the Hotel and Leisure sector where we are working with our clients to deliver new and refurbished hotel accommodation across Dublin and nationally. We also saw the opening of the refurbished and extended Arboretum Garden Centre in Kilquade.
Our team completed two Data Centre projects in Dublin, secured future planning, and delivered industrial and search-and-rescue units nationwide, showcasing our expertise in complex infrastructure for technology clients.
The Healthcare sector sees us working closely with the HSE and design-build Clients to deliver new Primary Care Centre, Care Nursing Units and Surgical Hub facilities, as well as upgrades of existing healthcare building stock across the Country.
We are working closely with our Education partners, including The University of Limerick, to deliver small capital works projects across campus and campus traffic and transport upgrades.
DUE DILIGENCE, FEASIBILITY AND LEGAL EXPERT
2024 has seen a strong demand for our civil, structural and traffic engineering expertise in providing Due Diligence and Feasibility studies on prospective development lands and existing building stock across all sectors. We expect further demand for these services as property portfolios come to market and our clients look to their future development plans.
Pearse Sutton and our Team continue to play a pivotal role as Engineering Experts on many legal and insurance cases across the Country.
STEPS IN SUSTAINABILITY
Did you know we have experience delivering a very broad range of sub-structure and super-structure solutions?
MMC or Modern Methods of Construction are increasingly popular when it comes to maximising off-site construction and minimising on-site construction activity, traffic and waste. We have delivered structural designs for every solution on the market including MMC friendly solutions such as pre-cast concrete, timber frame, light gauge steel, insulated wall panels and insulated concrete form.
We have also delivered projects utilising innovative sub-structure solutions that minimise “muck away” such as soil stabilisation and vibro-piling. This is a key driver of cost reduction and minimises unnecessary waste.
Throughout the year our Team have been developing internal procedures around growing requirements for embodied and embedded carbon calculations, SuDS and blue-green roof design, and mass timber/ high-rise timber construction.
Outside our organisation members of our Team are participating in groups driving sustainable policy, such as the Timber in Construction Steering Group, which Associate, William Gleeson is a member.
Re-using and extending existing structures is a very popular alternative to demolition and new-build, for both commercial and sustainability reasons. New Development Plans dictate justification for demolition vs. re-use and we have collaborated within Design Teams to develop these reports for submission to the Local Authority.
INDUSTRY AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Promoting engineering as a career path and encouraging growth and diversity in the engineering community is a key objective for our Team.
This year we visited St. Margaret’s National School in North County Dublin as part of the Engineers Ireland STEPS programme and led age-appropriate activities in each classroom to teach the children about what Engineers do in their day-to-day roles and the contribution that they make to the community.
We are very proud of Ciara Farmer, member of the Engineers Ireland Women in Engineering Committee, who was heavily involved in the organisation of the hugely successful, inaugural, International Women in Engineering Day conference in Trinity College Dublin in June. We were delighted to attend as representatives of women in the engineering community. We were also thrilled to bring two female secondary school students along with us who are interested in pursuing a career in engineering.
We are delighted to announce that we will be supporting the STEM Passport for Inclusion ( STEM Passport for Inclusion | Maynooth University ) initiative in 2025 and 2026, which is led by Dr. Katriona O’Sullivan of Maynooth University. The vision of the STEM Passport for Inclusion is to ensure every student, irrespective of class or condition, leaves school with a quality STEM experience. Their three primary objectives over the coming three years are to collaborate with every Transition Year student in each DEIS school across Ireland to:
Empower 5000 girls to obtain a university-accredited STEM qualification within their respective provinces.
Facilitate meaningful mentorship relationships between these 5000 students and accomplished women and men working in STEM, thereby enhancing their confidence and capabilities in STEM fields.
Promote more equitable practices within the STEM industry by affording the individuals who work with our students the opportunity to earn a micro-credential, a level 9 award, in mentoring for STEM equity from the affiliated university.
SITE VISITS
As part of our CPD Programme, it is a key objective that we organise a series of site visits for our Team so they learn about the broad range projects we have on site, and the challenges and opportunities they present. It also gives our Technicians the opportunity to see the projects they draft and model in real life. This year we visited several of our sites under construction learning from the project team, the Contractors and our Clients. Site visits in 2024 included Waterfront South Central, The Sidings, Harcourt Square and Belgard Square. We look forward to many more to come in 2025.
TEAMWOrk
If you can laugh together, you can work together! This year we enjoyed some great team building activities, from our Monday “elevenses” coffee break where we celebrated many cultural and charity events, to our more testing fitness challenges and social nights out. We are so proud of the diverse and enthusiastic Team we have at CS, who keep the craic in the office (but keep it out of the concrete!). We look forward to more fun in 2025.
ACCREDITATIONS
We are delighted to have renewed our ISO accreditations in Quality (9001), Environmental Management (14001) and Health & Safety (45001) this year. We are also proud to renew our Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer status which demonstrates our commitment to a quality CPD programme and ongoing professional development for all our Team.
