RCSI ERC EXTENSION, BEAUMONT HOSPITAL, DUBLIN 9

CS Consulting were commissioned by the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland to act as civil and structural engineers for the design and construction of a multi-storey extension to the existing Smurfit building on the grounds of the live Beaumont Hospital.

The extension development consisted of a new student concourse at ground floor level to link the existing building with the new facility extension. It includes a series of large flexible multi-functional tutorial rooms on the ground floor, open-plan faculty offices and meeting spaces on the first floor, and laboratory and research facilities on the second floor. The Extension is clad in a white polished concrete panel which compliments the existing building.
