MOXY HOTEL, SACKVILLE HOUSE, DUBLIN 1

This project involved the redevelopment of a 1970′s four-storey office block in Dublin City Centre to create a 157-room hotel over a ground-floor reception, bar, and restaurant. The project was awarded the ‘Tourism & Hospitality Project of the year 2020’ at the Irish Construction Industry Awards.

In regard to the structural elements of the works, the existing structural frame and floor slabs were retained and re-used, with an additional three-storey lightweight steel structure  added, whilst also infilling an existing mezzanine above the ground floor. Extensive structural assessment of the existing building and structural design for the additional structure was undertaken by our team. The new building now extends vertically to six floors with a set-back penthouse level.
