IRISH LIFE CUSTOMER CENTRE, DUNDALK, CO. LOUTH

This development comprised the provision of a c. 5,400 m² LEED Gold, BER A3 rated open plan office building located on the IDA’s Finnabair Business Park in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The 3-storey building provides office accommodation for various customer care and support teams for Irish Life Assurance’s business activities as well as providing hot desk areas, meeting rooms, and conference facilities.

The building is a reinforced concrete structure with a flat floor slab and circular supporting columns. The development site was backfilled prior to development and piling was used to support the building substructure.  Archaeological investigations were carried out and a high rock outcrop was observed during excavations. The surface car park was designed as permeable car parking which formed part of the surface water attenuation system. 

The Irish Life Customer Centre building was the winner of a ‘Green Good Design’ award under the category ‘Green Architecture’ in 2020.
