CHURCHFIELDS (PHASE 2B), MULHUDDART, DUBLIN 15

CS Consulting was engaged by Fingal County Council to provide a full suite of services on Phase 2B of the Church Fields social housing development on a c. 2.25-hectare site in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. The project involved the design and construction of 67 no. accelerated delivery housing units, access roads, car parking, and all associated site development works.

To meet the requirements of the rapid-build programme, the structure of these units is light gauge steel (LGS) with the majority of the elements being manufactured off-site. The foundations were vibro-piled foundations. This required high levels of co-ordination with the specialist off-site manufacturing team which ensured that high levels of quality control were maintained throughout the process.

All units are set to achieve a BER A energy rating, are well insulated, and heated with low carbon air source heat pumps, making the properties highly energy efficient and helping reduce heating costs for residents.
